One Act Festival

One Act Festival
The Tuesday Club Murders
Adapted and Directed by Lauren Zeftel

In this staged adaptation of mystery giant Agatha Christie's The Idol House of Astarte from her series of short stories, The Thirteen Problems, everyone’s detective skills will be put to the test.

When the Tanks Break
by Anne Washburn
Directed by Florence Lebas

This catastrophic short comedic play was originally written as part of a series of radio plays about working as a temp. “When the Tanks Break,” was originally based on an anecdote that Washburn heard about a temp, who got locked out of an office building, in a chemical cloud. This play unearths the struggles and indignities of the workplace and the deeper desires that come about as we grapple with our own self-worth inside a capitalist system.

Away Uniform
by Tina Satter
Directed by Ivey Lowe

Satter's experimental one-act imagines a separate place in the vast plains where sports drills, ritualistic recreation, and an ongoing merging of a personal past, present, and future feels disturbingly necessary and like a kind of home.

Event runs approximately
2 hr 15 mins with a 10 minute Intermission
